Thought for November 30 – “How the Story Ends”

Isaiah 25:6-8 – 6 On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare

a feast of rich food for all peoples,

a banquet of aged wine—

the best of meats and the finest of wines.

7 On this mountain he will destroy

the shroud that enfolds all peoples,

the sheet that covers all nations;

8 he will swallow up death forever.

The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears

from all faces;

he will remove his people’s disgrace

from all the earth.

It makes a difference when we know from the beginning how things are going to end. Isaiah 25 gives a glimpse of what it will look like when God comes to make his home among us:

1. A feast – I like feasts

2. Death will be swallowed up forever – I like the no death thing

3. Tears will be wiped away from all faces – I like the tears being wiped away thing

4. Disgrace will be removed – I like the removing disgrace thing

Lord, come make your home with us, aligning everything with your purposes and will. AMEN
