Isaiah 26:3 – You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
When I focus on the challenges, I often despair. When I focus on the ones who are going through the challenges with me, I often experience gratitude and peace.
There are still many challenges ahead at the time of Isaiah 26, so peace will not be found by waiting for the right circumstances. Instead, Isaiah says that peace will come by focusing on the One traveling with them through the challenges and preparing the final outcome – peace, life, righteousness.
Today I am thankful for the people who have traveled with me through past challenges, are traveling with me through present challenges and who will travel with me through future challenges.
But more than the people who have come and gone and who will continue to come and go, I am thankful God that you have always been with me, you are with me now, and you will be with me in the end.
Father, today I choose to live a life of gratitude and peace by focusing on you – the never-changing “Who” in my life – rather than focusing on the “what” – the ever-changing circumstances of my life. AMEN
